Here's the thing, I love Wix.
It's wonderful, it really is, buuuttttt the email marketing leaves something to be desired. And this is only because I can't get the results I'm looking for... Ideally, every blog post triggers an email, and I can review detailed analytics. (Yes, I know there are options outside of Wix to accomplishing this.)
So there's the thing, I can do this through Automation's but the analytics give an overview of all the sent emails... not each one so I can see what's working and what's not. However, I can get those answers through email campaigns but I have to manually create the email which means a LOT of copying and pasting and triple checking the URLs are correct (lesson I had to learn).
Automation's take less time but don't have the data I need. Manual emails take an extra hour, but the data is worth it... The best part? That hour can be spent the next day—no rush... This actually isn't even a question...
So, let's look at the data that I do have and see what I make of it... I started using automation emails around July. The results I have from that look like this... I'm actually not sure if this is an overview or per email...
And I've pulled the data from previous email campaigns... Another thing I didn't like is that I couldn't export the data from that chart... After some back and forth banter with ChatGPT, I gave it a PDF file of the campaign results and asked it to decipher the file. This is what it gave me back...
General Campaign Performance:
High Open Rates: Several campaigns have excellent open rates, such as "Ready for something new?" and "Is your marketing funnel even working?", both with 100% open rates.
Click-Through Rate (CTR): The CTR across campaigns varies, with the highest being 50% for "Question for you" and "Sept '23 - #4 Offer." However, many campaigns have low or zero CTR, indicating that while people are opening the emails, they're not always engaging further by clicking on links.
Site Sessions: There are relatively few site sessions for most campaigns, with some campaigns like "Sept '23 - #4 Offer" showing better results with 3 site sessions. Many campaigns have 0 site sessions, which suggests a missed opportunity for driving website traffic.
Top-Performing Campaigns:
“Ready for something new?”
100% open rate, 25% CTR, 1 site session
“Is your marketing funnel even working?”
100% open rate, 33% CTR, 1 site session
“Step-by-Step to Victory”
83% open rate, 40% CTR, 0 site sessions
“Question for you”
67% open rate, 50% CTR, 1 site session
These campaigns show high levels of engagement, both in terms of open rates and click-through rates. You might want to analyze the content and subject lines of these emails to replicate their success in future campaigns.
I’ll be working on duplicating these successes over the next three months. If you’ve had similar challenges with email campaigns or need help building your email list, let’s chat!
